Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for SARN-HELEN WAY, or Sarn-Lleon Way

SARN-HELEN WAY, or Sarn-Lleon Way, a Roman road in the W of Wales; from Carmarthen, north-ward by Llanio-Issa, Lampeter, Pennal or Penalt, and tommen-y-Mur, to Carnarvon. The name signifies"the Legion road; " and is given also to a cross-way from Caer-Bannau near Brecon, down the Vale of Neath, to Neath; likewise to a cross-way, continuous with the Via Julia Montana, from Brecon by Llanfair-ar-y-Brynto Llanio-Issa; and likewise to other cross-ways.
