RHYMNEY, or Rumney (The), a river of Brecon, Monmouth, and Glamorgan. It rises within Brecon; arrives shortly at the meeting-point with Monmouth and Glamorgan; and runs about 30 miles southward, along the boundary between these two counties, to Bristol channel, 2½ miles E by N of Cardiff. Its valley is richly mineral, and presents some fine scenery.
