OAKMERE, a township in Delamere parish, Cheshire; 4½ miles N by E of Tarporley. A good inn is here, atwhich petty sessions are held, and at which the Chester and Northwich omnibus calls. Acres, 2, 800. Real property, £1, 441. Pop., 284. Houses, 55. Most of the land was formerly part of Delamere forest, and belongs to the Crown.
