Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for NORTH DOWN

NORTH DOWN, a village in the N E of Kent; adjacent to the Margate and Ramsgate railway, 1 mile E of Margate. It is a neat place, and has a fair on 25 July. Whitfield Tower, now used as a sea-beacon, is near it.
