NANTWICH and MARKET-DRAYTON RAILWAY, a railway in Cheshire and Salop; from a junction with the Crewe and Shrewsbury line at Nantwich, south-ward to Market-Drayton. It was authorized in 1861, on a capital of £60,000 in shares, and £20,000 in loans; wasopened in Oct. 1863; and is a single line, 10¾ miles long. Connexion exists with the Northwestern and the Great Western; and power was obtained in 1864 to raise a farther capital of £60,000 in shares and £20,000 in loans.
