MYNYDDMAEN, a hamlet in Mynyddyslwyn parish, Monmouth; 4¾ miles N E by N of Caerphilly. Real property, £8,067; of which £4,000 are in mines, £6in quarries, and £220 in iron works. Pop. in 1851, 1, 519; in 1861, 1, 782. Houses, 346. The increase of pop. arose from the extension of tin works and collieries.
