MOXBY, a hamlet in Marton-in-the-Forest parish, N. R. Yorkshire; 3½ miles E N E of Yarn. Pop., 202. A Benedictine nunnery was founded here by Henry II.; and was given, at the dissolution, to the Archbishop of York.
