MITE (THE), a rivulet of the SW of Cumberland; rising on the Screes mountain, in the neighbourhood of Burnmoor-Tarn; and running 8 miles west-south-westward along Miterdale, nearly parallel with the It and the Esk, to a common estuary with these rivers in the neighbourhood of Ravenglass.
