YATELEY, a village and a parish in the district of Farnborough, and county of Southampton. The village stands 2½ miles WNW of Blackwater r. station, and 5¼ S of Wokingham; and has a post-office under Farnborough Station. The parish contains three tythings, and comprises 10,036 acres. Real property, £8,040. Pop. in 1851, 2,156; in 1861, 2,808. Houses, 554. The increase of pop. arose from vicinity to Aldershot camp. The property is subdivided. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Winchester. Value, £72.* Patron, St. Cross Hospital. The church is modern. The p. curacies of Cove and Hawley are separate benefices. There are a Baptist chapel, a national school, and charities £75.
