CANDLESBY, a parish in Spilsby district, Lincoln; 2 miles WNW of Burgh r. station, and 3½ ENE of Spilsby. It has a post office under Spilsby. Acres, 850. Real property, £1,852. Pop., 240. Houses, 56. The property is much subdivided. Candlesby Hall is a chief residence. Several pieces of old armour and weapons have been found. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln. Value, £200.* Patron, Magdalene College, Oxford. The church is good.
