CARLTON, a township in Roystone parish, W. R..Yorkshire; adjacent to the Barnesley canal, and the York and Derby railway, 3 miles NNE of Barnesley. Acres, 1,953. Real property, £4,049; of which £1,500 are in mines. Pop., 351. Houses, 84.
