In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described North Perrot like this:
PERROTT (North), a parish, with a village, in Yeovil district, Somerset; on the river Parret, adjacent to Dorset, 2 miles E N E of Crewkerne r. station. Post-town, Crewkerne. Acres, 1, 248. Real property, £2, 682. Pop., 374. Houses, 84. The property is divided among a few. The manor belongs to W. Hoskins, Esq. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells. Value, £300.* Patron, the Rev. H. Hoskins. The church is later English, cruciform, and good; and has a tower.
