In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Wildsworth like this:
WILDSWORTH, a hamlet in Laughton parish, Lincoln; 7½ miles N of Gainsborough. Pop., 150. Houses, 27. A chapel of ease is here, and was built in 1838.
