RAINTON-CUM-NEWBY, a township in Topcliffe parish, N. R. Yorkshire; on Leeming-lane, 6 miles N N W of Boroughbridge. Acres, 1, 511. Real property, £3,067. Pop., 380. Houses, 83. The manor belongs to Earl de Grey. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
