STOKE-RIVERS, a parish, with a village, in Barnstaple district, Devon; 5 miles E by N of Barnstaple r. station. Post town, Barnstaple. Acres, 2,426. Real property, £2,067. Pop., 242. Houses, 48. The manor belongs to Sir A. Chichester. There are remains of a large Roman camp. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Exeter. Value, £231.* Patron, not reported. The church is good; and there is an endowed school.
