In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Keithhall like this:
Keith-Hall and Kinkell, par., Aberdeenshire, 7601 ac., pop. 880; contains Keith Hall (formerly Caskieben), seat of the Earl of Kintore, on river Ury, 1 mile E. of Inverurie.
