Kirkmabreck, par., Kirkcudbright, on Wigtown Bay, 23,031 ac., pop. 1834; contains Creetown; Kirkmabreck Granite Quarries are 1½ mile SE. of Creetown; Dr Thomas Brown (1778-1820), the philosopher, was a native.
