Real property, £1,982. Pop., 304. Houses, 77. The manor belongs to Sir J. H. Crewe, Bart. The scene of the tournament described in Sir Walter Scott's "Ivanhoe" is within 200 yards of the village. ...
The living is a p. curacy in the diocese of Lichfield. Value, £58. Patron, the Marquis of Hastings. The church is ancient. There are a church estate yielding £41 a year, a Wesleyan chapel, and a national school.
