In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Ravensbourne like this:
RAVENSBOURNE (The), a river of the N W of Kent; rising near Farnborough; and running about 10 miles north-north-westward, past Bromley and Lewisham, to the Thames at Deptford.
Ravensbourne is now part of BROMLEY District. Click here for graphs and data of how BROMLEY has changed over two centuries. For statistics about Ravensbourne itself, go to Statistics.
