In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Asterleigh like this:
ASTERLEY FARM and HOUSE, an extra-parochial tract in Woodstock district, Oxford; contiguous to Kiddington parish, 4¼ miles NW of Woodstock. It was anciently a parish, and had a church at Chapelbroke; but was annexed to Kiddington in 1466.
Asterleigh is now part of WEST OXFORDSHIRE District. Click here for graphs and data of how WEST OXFORDSHIRE has changed over two centuries. For statistics about Asterleigh itself, go to Statistics.
