PONT-NEDD-FYCHAN, or Pont-Neath-Vaughan, a village on the S verge of Breconshire; adjacent to the confluence of the rivers Neath and Pyrddin with the rivers Mellte and Hepste, near the Neath and Aberdare railway, 8 miles N W by W of Aberdare. It lies under a narrow gorge of the river Neath's v ...


alley; has a picturesque one-arched bridge over the Neath; serves as a tourists' centre for exploring much romantic scenery in its neighbourhood; and has an inn, and fairs on the Saturday after 12 March, the Saturday before 12 May, the Saturday before 5 July, the Saturday before 26 Aug., 21 Sept., and 14 Nov.
