In 1882-4, Frances Groome's Ordnance Gazetteer of Scotland described Ruthven like this:
Ruthven, a village in Cairnie parish, Aberdeenshire, 2¼ miles WNW of Rothiemay station and 6 NNW of Huntly, under which it has a post office.
Ruthven is now part of ABERDEENSHIRE Council. Click here for graphs and data of how ABERDEENSHIRE has changed over two centuries. For statistics about Ruthven itself, go to Statistics.
