In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Brynsiencyn like this:
BRYNSHENKIN, or Brynsiencyn, a village in Llanidan parish, Anglesey; 3½ miles NW of Carnarvon. It has a post office under Bangor, and a fair on 12 Oct.
