In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Clygyrog like this:
CLYGYROG, or Clegyrog, a township in Llanbadrig parish, Anglesey; 4¼ miles NNW of Llanerchymedd. Real property, £1, 972. Pop., 386.
