In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Llwyntidman like this:
LLWYNTIDMAN, a township in Llanymynech parish, Salop; on the river Vyrnwy, 5½ miles S of Oswestry. Real property, £6,545; of which £132 are in mines. Pop., 545.
