In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Seaview like this:
SEAVIEW, a village at the N E extremity of the Isle of Wight; round Nettlestone Point, 2½ miles E S E of Ryde. It is a sea-bathing resort; and has a post-office under Ryde, a hotel, a number of lodging houses, and a smallchurch in the early English style, erected in 1859.
Seaview is now part of ISLE OF WIGHT Unitary Authority. Click here for graphs and data of how ISLE OF WIGHT has changed over two centuries. For statistics about Seaview itself, go to Statistics.
