In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Nork like this:
NORK PARK, a place near Epsom race-course in Surrey; 2½ miles S E by E of Epsom. A seat was built here before 1759, and belonged to the Earl of Egmont.
