In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Hazlemere like this:
Hazlemere, eccl. dist. and hamlet, Chipping Wycombe, Hughenden, and Penn pars., Bucks, pop. 780; hamlet, 3 m. NE. of Wycombe; P.O., called Hazelmoor.
