In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Tresilian like this:
TRESILIAN, a village in Merther parish, Cornwall; on a creek of Falmonth harbour, 3¼ miles ENE of Truro. It has a post-office under Probus, Cornwall, and four annual fairs; and it was the place where the civil wars of Charles I. terminated, by the surrender of the royal army to Fairfax.
Tresilian is now part of CORNWALL Unitary Authority. Click here for graphs and data of how CORNWALL has changed over two centuries. For statistics about Tresilian itself, go to Statistics.
