In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Mill Bridge like this:
MILLBRIDGE, a hamlet in Liversedge chapelry, Birstall parish, W. R. Yorkshire; 6½ miles NNW of Huddersfield. It has a post office under Leeds; and carries on industry in iron-founding, in card-making, and in Turkey carpet and rug and woollen mills.
Mill Bridge is now part of KIRKLEES District. Click here for graphs and data of how KIRKLEES has changed over two centuries. For statistics about Mill Bridge itself, go to Statistics.
