In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Flanesford like this:
FLANESFORD, a quondam priory in Goodrich parish, Hereford; on the river Wye, at Herne Bridge, 4 miles SSW of Ross. It was founded, in 1347, for Angustinian canons, by the Talbots; and the extant remains of it are now a barn.
Flanesford is now part of HEREFORDSHIRE Unitary Authority. Click here for graphs and data of how HEREFORDSHIRE has changed over two centuries. For statistics about Flanesford itself, go to Statistics.
