In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Lyvers Ocle like this:
OCLE-LIVERS, an quondam extra-parochial tract in Bromyard district, Hereford; now included in Ocle-Pitchard parish. Pop., 9. A Benedictine priory was founded in 1160; and was a cell to Lira abbey in Normandy.
