In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Broadhaven like this:
BROADHAVEN, a village on the coast of Pembroke; on St. Bride's bay, 6 miles WSW of Haverfordwest. It is frequented for sea bathing; presents a pleasant appearance; has a fine, firm, sandy beach; and commands splendid coast views.
