In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Langford like this:
LANGFORD, a village in Barrington and Churchill parishes, Somerset; 6 miles NE of Axbridge. It is divided into Lower L. and Upper L.; and it has a post-office, of the name of Langford, Somerset.
Langford is now part of NORTH SOMERSET Unitary Authority. Click here for graphs and data of how NORTH SOMERSET has changed over two centuries. For statistics about Langford itself, go to Statistics.
