In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Tre Taliesin like this:
Taliesin (or Tre-Tallesin), hamlet, Llancynfelin par., Cardiganshire, 8½ miles NE. of Aberystwith; P.O.; is one of the traditional burial-places of Taliesin, father of the bards, who nourished in the 6th century.
