In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Taf Fechan like this:
TAF-VECHAN, a chapelry in Llanthetty parish, Breconshire; 10 miles S by E of Brecon r. station. Post town, Brecon. The statistics are returned with the parish. The living is a p. curacy in the diocese of St. Davids. Value, not reported. Patron, the Rector of Llanthetty.
