In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Henwick like this:

HENWICK, an extra-parochial tract in Worcestershire; contiguous to Bedwardine-St. John parish, and on the Worcester and Malvern railway, 1¼ mile W of Worcester. It has a station on the railway, and contains Henwick House and Henwick Lodge.
