In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Neath Abbey like this:
NEATH ABBEY, a village in Dyffryn-Clydach hamlet, Cadoxton parish, Glamorgan; at the ruins of Neath abbey, adjacent to the Vale of Neath railway, ½a mile N by W of Neath. It has a station on the railway.
Neath Abbey is now part of NEATH PORT TALBOT District. Click here for graphs and data of how NEATH PORT TALBOT has changed over two centuries. For statistics about Neath Abbey itself, go to Statistics.
