In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Awe like this:
Awe.-- loch, N. Argyllshire; extends 24 miles NNE. to the base of Ben Cruachan, is proportionately very narrow, and exhibits great variety of scenery.
Awe is now part of ARGYLL AND BUTE Council. Click here for graphs and data of how ARGYLL AND BUTE has changed over two centuries. For statistics about Awe itself, go to Statistics.
