Newcastle, market town and par. with ry. sta., in co. and 27 miles SW. of Limerick, near river Deel-par., 5424 ac., pop. 2802; town, pop. 2186; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks. Market-day, Saturday. The town is situated partly within Monagay par.
