SCALTHWAITERING, HAY, AND HUTTON-I'-THE-HAY, a township in Kendal parish, Westmoreland; 4 miles E of Kendal. Real property, £3, 864. Pop., 504. Houses, 89. The manor belongs to the Earl of Lonsdale. There are woollen mills, and card, snuff, and corn factories.
