In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Duleek like this:

Duleek, par. and vil. with ry. sta., E. co. Meath, 5 miles SW. of Drogheda and 37 N. of Dublin -- par., 16,553 ac., pop. 2397; vil., pop. 581; P.O., T.O. The vil. is situated in bar. Lower Duleek, and 1 m. S. of sta.
