MATLEY, a township in Mottram parish, Cheshire; 1¾ mile S by E of Staleybridge r. station, and 6½ NE of Stockport. Acres, 700. Real property, £1,762. Pop., 231. Houses, 46. The manor belongs to the Earl of Stamford.
