MICHAELSTOW, a parish in Camelford district, Cornwall; on the river Camel, 3¼ miles SSW of Camelford, and 10 N by W of Bodmin-Road r. station. It contains the hamlet of Treveighan; and its Post town is Camelford. Acres, 1,617. Real property, £1,786. Pop., 219. Houses, 46. The property is divided among a few. ...
Au ancient quadrangular entrenchment is on Michaelstow beacon. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Excter. Value, £270.* Patron, the Prince of Wales. The church is a stone structure, with a tower; was reported in 1859 as not good; and contains monuments of the Lowers. There are chapels for Wesleyans, Bible Christians, and United Free Methodists, and a national school.
