POSTLING, a parish in Elham district, Kent; 1¾mile N W of Westenhanger r. station, and 3 N of Hythe. Post-town, Hythe, Kent. Acres, 1, 560. Real property, £1, 731. Pop., 139. Houses, 25. The manor and most of the land belong to W. Deedes, Esq. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Canterbury. Value, £246.* Patron, the Archbishop of Canterbury. The church is ancient but good, and has a small spire. Kennet, author of " Roman Antiquities, " was a native; and hisfather was vicar.
