RATCLIFFE-UPON-SOAR, a parish in the district of Shardlow and county of Nottingham; on the Midland railway, and on the river Soar, adjacent to the confluencewith the Trent, at the boundary with Derbyshire, 1½mile N of Kegworth r. station, and 8¼ S W by S of Nottingham. Post-town, Kegworth, under Derby. ...
Acres, 970. Real property, £2,045. Pop., 165. Houses, 35. The property is divided among a few. The manor belongs to Earl Howe. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lincoln. Value, £100. Patron, Earl Howe. The church is old, was repaired in 1859, and has a square tower with octagonal spire. There is a freeschool.
