WHITTERING, or Wittering, a parish in the district of Stamford and county of Northampton; 2½ miles NNW of Wansford-Road r. station, and 3½ SSE of Stamford. Post town, Wansford. Acres, 2,690. Real property, £2,558. Pop., 235. Houses, 52. The manor belongs to the Marquis of Exeter. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough. Value, £112.* Patron, the Marquis of Exeter. The church is partly Norman, partly early English.
