BAVINGTON (great), a township in Kirkwhelpington parish, Northumberland; 4 miles E of Watling-street, and 10½ N of Corbridge. Acres, 1,565. Pop., 61. Houses, 15. Bavington Hall is the seat ofC. Shafto, Esq. There is an English Presbyterian church.
