Notes

The location of Dronfield and of (Great) Barlow to its south-west are clear, but Little Barlow has not been found on a topographic map. White's 1857 directory of Sheffield and Derbyshire says this: "Little Barlow is a small village and township intermixed with the parish of Great Barlow 4 miles N.W. by N. from Chesterfield ... Notwithstanding the houses are completely intermixed with Great Barlow and the land without any particular boundary, yet it keeps its own poor." (cited by http://www.aboutbarlow.co.uk, accessed 16/1/2011). For now, Little Barlow and Great Barlow are best treated as being the same locations.
