Youngs' entry for the township of Blaxton lists it as having been party of Claro wapentake, but that Wapentake was otherwise entirely north of Leeds. Youngs' separate listing of wapentakes and other ancient districts with their component parishes places Blaxton only in Doncaster soke, as did the 1831 census report.
